Duterte, Misuari meet in Davao

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte and Moro National Liberation Front chair Nur Misuari met  in Davao on Friday, Dec. 13.

A statement said the two had a “fruitful discussion” with Misuari and senior members of the Peace Coordinating Committee of the MNLF and of the government’s own panel.

“President Duterte reiterated that he wants to make some headway towards peace, at least before his term ends, adding that concerned government agencies are working hand in hand to achieve desired results,” the statement said.

The statement said the President also expressed gratitude to Misuari, and assured him of the government’s commitment

Senator Bong Go accompanied the President.

The President has met with Misuari several times in the past.

In November, they agreed to form both sides’ respective panels for the peace coordinating panel. With a report from Meanne Corvera
