(Eagle News) — Typhoon “Kammuri” has gained more strength as it approached the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday, Nov. 29.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 10 a.m., “Kammuri,” last spotted 1470 kilometers east of Southern Luzon, was packing maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
It is moving northwest slowly, and is expected to enter PAR between Saturday, Nov. 30, and Sunday, December 1.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be raised over the eastern portion of the Bicol Region-Eastern Visayas area on Sunday, with “Kammuri” forecast to bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Samar province starting Monday, December 2.
PAGASA said most of the areas in Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Southern Luzon and Metro Manila will experience strong winds and heavy to intense rains on Tuesday, December 3, and the following day, December 4.
