(Eagle News)–“Perla” has maintained its strength as it slightly accelerated on Sunday, Oct. 20.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the eye of Typhoon “Perla” was located 750 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
It is moving north northeast at 20 kph.
“Perla” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tonight and tomorrow early morning.
No tropical cyclone wind signal is in effect but occasional gusts may still be experienced over Extreme Northern Luzon until tomorrow due to the prevailing northeasterly surface wind flow, PAGASA said.
Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions associated with the northeasterly surface wind flow, PAGASA said.
Severe Tropical Storm “Bualoi,” which was located 2,825 kilometers east of Visayas as of 10 a.m., remains less likely to enter the PAR.
