PAGASA monitors two LPAs

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring two low pressure areas off Batanes and Zambales.

PAGASA said as of 3 a.m. one LPA was seen 715 kilometers east of Basco.

The other LPA, PAGASA said, was estimated 130 kilometers west southwest of Iba, Zambales.

The southwest monsoon is also affecting Central and Southern Luzon and Western Visayas, the weather bureau said.

PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will be experienced over the provinces of Aurora, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan due to the trough of an LPA.

Moderate to strong winds  will prevail over Northern Luzon and Aurora Province.

Coastal waters will be moderate to very rough.
