Go: At least 8 convicted drug lords avail of hospital passes for sale at Bilibid to continue illegal drug trade

(Eagle News)–At least eight convicted drug lords avail of the hospital passes being sold by some unscrupulous Bureau of Corrections personnel at the New Bilibid Prison to continue operating their illegal drug trade.

This is according to Senator Bong Go, who said he received the information from a “high-profile” NBP inmate.

He said the inmates availed of the passes because their movements were not restricted in the hospital.

“Most of these illegal drug transactions take place in medical ward 3, medical annex building 14 and it involves several personalities,” Go said.

He said there was also collusion with the doctors, who attest to the inmate’s “sickness.”

Senator Ronald dela Rosa, who was Bureau of Corrections chief, said during his time, Amin Boratong and Raymond Dominguez were always confined at the NBP hospital.

Boratong operated the shabu tiangge in Pasig while Dominguez is a suspect in the killing of Venzon Evangelista, son of now-Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption president Arsenio Evangelista.

“Wala kami nahuli pero marami impormasyon na dyan nila ginagawa..Pinabalik ko sa Building 14, wala akong pakialam ano sakit mo,” Dela Rosa said.

Go could not say how much each hospital pass was but Senator Panfilo Lacson said based on information received by his office, the prices range from P200,000 to P2 million.

He said there was also a P30,000 per day board and lodging fee.

Lacson urged the  chair of the joint panel probing the reports on BuCor to summon the NBP doctors in the next hearing. Meanne Corvera
