Two LPAs monitored off Cagayan, Surigao del Sur

Southwest monsoon affects W. Luzon

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring two low pressure areas, one near Cagayan, and the other near Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA said the southwest monsoon is also affecting the western section of Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said, will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and the LPA north of Luzon.

Flash floods or landslides due to occasional heavy rains are possible.

Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN will also have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the
trough of one of the LPAs east of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao, on the other hand, will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
