(Eagle News)–Signal No. 2 has been lifted in all areas as “Jenny,” now a tropical depression, crosses the mountains of N. Luzon and leaves the landmass.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of “Jenny” emerged over the Lingayen Gulf around 3 a.m. today.
“Jenny” is highly likely to reintensify into a tropical storm, PAGASA said.
Signal No. 1 is hoisted over Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Pampanga, Bulacan, northern portion of Quezon (including Polillo Islands) as “Jenny,” which is located 125 kilometers northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan and is packing maximum winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 85 kph, moves west northwest at 35 kph.
Between morning and afternoon today, light to moderate with frequent heavy rains are expected over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Isabela, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya.
Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains, on the other hand, are expected over Central Luzon, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Mindoro Provinces, and Palawan.
Between afternoon today and tomorrow afternoon, PAGASA said light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains due to the southwest monsoon will prevail over Western Visayas, Mindoro Provinces, northern portion of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands), Zambales and Bataan.
PAGASA said gusty conditions may occur in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal.
Occasional gusts may also be experienced in Visayas and in other areas of Luzon due to the southwest monsoon.
As for sea travel, PAGASA said it remains risky over the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern and western seaboards of Southern Luzon, including the seaboards of areas still under Signal No. 1 due to potentially rough sea conditions.
“Jenny” is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility this afternoon or evening.
