(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte met with Moro National Liberation Front founding chairman Nur Misuari over the weekend.
Senator Bong Go, the President’s longtime aide who released a picture on the meeting, said they met in Davao.
There were no details on the meeting yet.
This is the fourth time the President and Misuari meet.
Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Carlito Galvez Jr. said in a press conference on Aug. 20 that the President has asked them to look into the possibility of creating a regional government for areas under the influence of the MNLF.
Sulu, Misuari’s turf, had voted out of the Bangsamoro Autononous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
BARMM is led mostly by members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the MNLF’s rival.
