De Lima arrives in Iriga, CamSur to visit ailing mother

(Eagle News)–Senator Leila de Lima on Thursday, Aug. 15, arrived in Camarines Sur to visit her ailing mother.

A Tweet from her official Twitter account said De Lima arrived at the Legazpi City Airport at  6:20am.

She arrived in her residence in Iriga past 7 a.m.

In her motions for furlough that were granted by  Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branches 205 and 256, where she faces drug-related charges, De Lima had said her mother Norma was transferred to the NICC Doctors Hospital in Iriga since Aug. 9.

Both branches granted De Lima’s urgent motions after the prosecution did not pose any objection to them.

The courts said De Lima was allowed a furlough of a maximum of 48 hours, with Branch 205 allowing her a maximum of eight hours of stay in the hospital.

De Lima was ordered to shoulder her expenses and was banned from using her communication gadgets and from granting interviews.
