Guevarra to NBI: Probe “alleged graft, corrupt practices” in PCSO

(Eagle News)–Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to probe  the alleged “graft and corrupt practices” in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Guevarra issued the order to NBI director Dante Gierran through Department order number 384 on Monday, July 29.

The order comes days after President Duterte ordered the termination of all forms of gambling under PCSO, including lotto, STL, keno and peryahan ng bayan, due to “massive corruption.”

Guevarra ordered Gierran to file the appropriate charges if necessary.

“Further, Director Gierran is hereby directed to submit reports on the progress of the subject investigation and case build-up directly to the Office of the Secretary,” Guevarra said.
