(Eagle News)–The number of Filipinos who said their lives improved in the last 12 months remains “very high,” a recent Social Weather Stations survey said.
According to the SWS, based on its June 22 to 26 survey, 36% of adult Filipinos said their lives improved, while 22% said their lives worsened in that period.
This translates to a net gainers score of +13.
The pollster said this was the third consecutive quarter the number of Filipinos who believe their lives improved remained very high, although the net gainers score was 4 points lower than the +17 in March.
According to the SWS, the decrease was due to a 2-point decrease in the percentage of gainers and a 1-point increase in the percentage of those who believe their lives have not improved.
“The decrease in the Net Gainers score comes after a 19-point increase over the previous two quarters. After dropping to -2 (fair) in September 2018, it went up to +12 (very high) in December, and up again to +17 (very high) in March 2019, before falling to +13 in June,” the SWS said.
The survey made use of face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults nationwide: 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
