(Eagle News)–Five areas are still under storm signals as Tropical Storm “Falcon” maintained its strength and moved in a north northwest direction on Wednesday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Signal No. 2 was still hoisted over Batanes as “Falcon,” located 195 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan, moved at 20 kilometers per hour.
Signal No. 1 has been lifted over Abra, Kalinga, Isabela, Mt. Province, and Ifugao, but it remains hoisted over Apayao, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and the Babuyan group of Islands.
Moderate to at times heavy rains will be experienced over Isabela, La Union, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Aklan, and Antique, PAGASA said, while light to moderate with at times heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon and of Visayas.
Tomorrow, July 18, moderate to occasionally heavy rains may prevail over Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and light to moderate with at times heavy rains over the rest of Luzon, PAGASA said.
According to the weather bureau, sea travel is risky over the seaboards of areas under storm signals, the eastern seaboard of Luzon, the western and southern seaboard of Southern Luzon, and the western seaboard of Visayas.
“Falcon” may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday, July 19.
