(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday, June 22, urged Thai businessmen to invest in the Philippines, especially in the “new industrial destinations” of Metro Manila, Pampanga, Clark, Cebu, Bohol, and Davao.

In making the invitation, Duterte guaranteed “a competitive and corruption-free business climate and a highly skilled and fast-learning workforce.”

The President also thanked the Thais for their contribution to the Philippine economy.

“We view this courtesy call as an affirmation of investor confidence to the competent and skilled leadership of the president as he continues to positively turn the local economy around through his various reform initiatives and make the Philippines as one of the highest growing economies in the region,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.

The President is in Thailand to attend the 34th Association of Southeast Asian Summit.
