(Eagle News)–The lawyer of one of the owners of WellMed Dialysis Center in Quezon City said on Monday, June 10, that they had evidence to back their claims it was the supposed whistleblowers of the “ghost dialysis” scam who were behind the scheme.
Ruel Ilagan made the statement at the National Bureau of Investigation headquarters, where he accompanied his client, Brian Sy, a co-owner of the medical center accused of processing the PhilHealth benefits of deceased patients.
Sy surfaced two days after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the arrest of Wellmed owners.
But Edwin Roberto and Liezel Santos denied Ilagan’s claims.
In an interview with reporters at the NBI headquarters where they sought help to be placed under the Witness Protection Program, Roberto and Santos said it was Sy who harassed them and instructed them to process such claims.
The two said they were mere employees at that time. Moira Encina
