(Eagle News) — For Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, his 12 years in the Senate can be described as a “wild ride.”
“Maraming twists and turns, napakaraming downs, may konting ups,” Trillanes, whose term will expire on June 30, said at the Kapihan sa Senado forum on Thursday, June 6.
According to Trillanes, he, however, believes he has “done my best.”
“I tried to make a difference and given the time, the energy, the resources I had, I believe I’ve done my job,” he said.
Trillanes is among six outgoing senators of the 17th Congress.
The others are Senators Gringo Honasan, Bam Aquino, JV Ejercito, Loren Legarda and Francis Escudero.
Legarda will assume her post as Antique representative in the 18th Congress, while Escudero will take his seat as governor of Sorsogon in July.
Aquino and Ejercito failed in their reelection bids in the May 13 elections.
Of the six, only Trillanes did not deliver a valedictory address on Tuesday, June 4, when the 17th Congress adjourned, as he was not present. With a report from Meanne Corvera
