(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has sacked Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System administrator Reynaldo Velasco.
In a speech on Friday, May 24, Duterte said Velasco will be replaced by retired general Ricardo Morales.
Velasco’s dismissal came almost two months after a water shortage gripped Manila Water customers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Duterte had threatened to dismiss MWSS officials and end water concessionaires’ contracts if the water shortage was not resolved.
