(Eagle News)—The Palace on Friday, Nov. 30, advised the camp of former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo to “hold (their) horses” and to stop engaging in “propaganda war” following their arrest.
“Rashly jumping into conclusions and engaging in propaganda war not only is unproductive but an attempt to resort to a trial by publicity against the government by those identified with the left,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.
Panelo instead advised the group to “let the constitutional processes proceed without fear nor favor.”
“There is no room for short cuts that impair the legal processes,” he said.
Ocampo, Rep. France Castro and several others were arrested and charged with trafficking and for violation of the law protecting children.
But their camp said they were merely rescuing lumads who had been affected by the padlocking of a community center in Davao when they were blocked by the military.
