(Eagle News)—-Several areas remain under Signal No. 1 as Tropical Depression “Samuel” heads toward Iloilo and traverses the Visayan Sea.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said under Signal No. 1 are Masbate, including Ticao Island, Romblon, southern Oriental Mindoro, southern Occidental Mindoro, Palawan including Cuyo island and Calamian group of islands, Biliran, Leyte, northern Cebu, northern Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan and Antique.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected over Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Quezon.
As of 7 a.m., PAGASA said “Samuel” was located 90 kilometers east southeast of Roxas City, Capiz, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
“Samuel” is moving west at 30 kilometers per hour.
Fisherfolk and small seacraft are advised not to venture out in areas under Signal No. 1 and in the eastern and northern seaboards of Luzon.
