Inflation surged to 6.7 percent in September, the Philippine Statistics Authority said on Friday, Oct. 5.
In August, the inflation rate was pegged at 6.4 percent.
National Statistician Lisa Grace Bersales noted, however, that month-on-month inflation was at 0.8 percent, slower than the 0.9 percent in August.
Month-on-month inflation refers to the increase in consumer prices.
