(Eagle News)–Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Sunday, Sept. 23, welcomed former Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte’s filing of libel cases against him.
According to Trillanes, it would be “an opportunity to call Polong as a hostile witness, so he would be compelled to show his tattoo on his back to prove that he is a member of a Chinese triad drug syndicate.”
“It would also be an opportunity for me to have his bank accounts subpoenaed,” Trillanes said.
These were the same accusations Trillanes hurled last year against the presidential son, whom he implicated in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment that slipped the country.
Duterte, however, denied the allegations.
On Wednesday, Sept. 19, Duterte filed complaints against Trillanes over those remarks.
Earlier, Duterte and Manases Carpio, the President’s son-in-law and husband of Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio also filed a separate libel complaint against Trillanes after he alleged they extorted money from companies including Uber.
