President Duterte to lead command conference on Typhoon “Ompong” today

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte will lead a command conference on Typhoon “Ompong” on Thursday, Sept. 14.

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, the command conference will be held at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Operations Center in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City at 3 p.m.

“Ompong” entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday, Sept. 12, prompting the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration to raise a Storm Signal Number One  over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan group of Islands, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Isabela, Benguet, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon inc. Polillo Island, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Burias and Ticao island.

“Fisherfolk and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1, the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and of Mindanao,” PAGASA said.
