Jinggoy Estrada seeks Singapore sojourn to accompany father for medical appointment, possible surgery

(Eagle News) — Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada has asked the Sandiganbayan to allow him to accompany his father, who will undergo a medical exam and possible procedure in Singapore in November.

In a four-page motion submitted to the fifth division, where he is facing a complaint over the alleged pork barrel scam, Estrada said that Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada’s appointment with Dr. Premkumar Pillay from the Singapore Brain-Pine Nerves Center at Mount Elizabeth Hospital is from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19.

Estrada said the Manila mayor, who had been complaining of severe low back pain in the first week of September,  had asked him to accompany him during the examination and possible procedure.

“Premises considered, it is respectfully prayed of the honorable court that accused-movant be allowed to accompany his father…from Nov. 11 to 20 for the latter’s medical procedure…,” he said.

He said the earlier date was for “any advance preparations to be made,” and the Nov. 20 was for “any extended recuperation period of the mayor.”
