(Eagle News) — Umakyat na sa siyam na drug suspek ang napapatay habang 145 ang naaresto sa ilalim ng Oplan Double Barrel Reloaded ng Philippine National Police (PNP).

Sa harap nito, humihingi naman ng alternatibong solusyon ang PNP sa mga tutol sa pagpapatuloy ng war on drugs.

Mula nang ilunsad ng PNP ang Oplan Double Barrel Reloaded noong Lunes (Marso 6),  siyam na drug suspek ang naitala sa panibagong listahan ng mga napapatay.  May 145 naman ang naaresto habang 13 drug user naman ang kusang loob na sumuko sa ilalim ng Oplan Tokhang Revisited.

Patuloy namang tumututol dito ang ilang mga kritiko nito tulad ng mga paring Katoliko.

Dahil dito muling umapela ang PNP sa mga grupong kontra sa war on drugs na magbigay ng suhestyon na maaaring maging alternatibo sa “Double Barrel” at “Oplan Tokhang.”  Giit pa ng PNP wala silang masamang intensyon sa muling pagsabak sa giyera kontra droga.

Bukas daw ang PNP sa lahat ng suhestyon para tuluyan nang matuldukan ang lumalalang problema sa iligal na droga..

Una nang inimbitahan ng PNP ang mga paring Katotiko at iba pang church leaders na sumama sa Oplan Tokhang ng PNP para personal nilang mabantayan ang kilos ng mga pulis.   Ang imbitasyon naman ito at tinanggihan ng mga paring Katoliko.
