(Eagle News)– Five suspected Abu Sayyaf members were killed and seven soldiers were wounded during a clash between them in Sulu on Sunday.
The five fatalities were identified as Annib Black, Tasom Hammiri, Mikdad Juhurim, Undil Hussin, and a certain Roger.
Lt. Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said the clash ensued in Old Panamao at 4:15 a.m., after at least 30 suspected Abu Sayyaf members fired at authorities who were about to secure kidnap victim Jade Quimpo.
The enemies ended up retreating but not without wounding four soldiers severely.
Three others from the government side suffered minor injuries.
