3 suspected NPA rebels killed as authorities foil takeover of municipal police station in N. Samar

Two from gov’t side hurt

(Eagle News)–Three suspected New People’s Army rebels were killed after authorities foiled their takeover of a municipal police station in Northern Samar on Thursday, March 28.

In an interview over radio dzbb, Police Lt. Reynaldo dela Cruz, director of the Police Provincial Office of Northern Samar, said two from the government side were also hurt after the suspected rebels attacked the Victoria municipal police station at 3:44 a.m.

Dela Cruz said authorities were able to arrest one suspected NPA rebel.

“Hindi sila nakapagwithdraw properly. Nagkawatak watak sila. May hinahabol pa ang mga tropa,” he said.

He said authorities were also at present detonating improvised explosive devices left by the suspected rebels in the police station.
