SWS: 48 percent of Filipinos believe Duterte will fulfill most, if not all, of his promises

(Eagle News) — Forty-eight percent of Filipinos believe President Rodrigo Duterte will fulfill most if not all of his promises, a Social Weather Stations survey said.

According to the Fourth Quarter 2018  survey done from December 16 to 19, 2018,  of the 48 percent, 13% said Duterte can fulfill “all or nearly all” his promises, and 35% said he can fulfill “most” of his promises.

Expectation that Duterte can fulfill “all or nearly all” of his promises rose in the Visayas and Balance Luzon, the SWS said.

The pollster said the 2-point increase in the national proportion of those saying Duterte can fulfill “all or nearly all” of his promises was due to increases in the Visayas and Balance Luzon, combined with a decline in Mindanao and a slight decline in Metro Manila.

According to the SWS, it rose by 8 points in the Visayas, from 38% in March 2018.

In Balance Luzon, it said it rose by 5 points from 44% in March.

However, it fell by 10 points in Mindanao, from 60% in March, the SWS said.

In Metro Manila, the SWS said it slightly declined from 42%in March.

The survey was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,440 adults nationwide: 360 each in Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sampling error margins were pegged at ±2.6% for national percentages, and ±5% each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.
