Sara Duterte says Robredo should avoid commenting about honesty; VP’s honesty “has been questioned since Day 1 of her term,” Davao mayor says

(Eagle News)—Davao Mayor Sara Duterte has slammed Vice President Leni Robredo for her comments honesty should be a requirement for candidates, saying the vice president’s honesty herself has been “questioned” since day one of her term.

“She is not called fake VP for no reason,” Duterte said, noting that Robredo faced an electoral protest for “massive fraud” during the 2016 elections.

She was referring to the electoral protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos, who then ran against Robredo.

Robredo was declared the winner after she edged Marcos by only 263,473 votes.

“She has tried to copy her late husband but has failed at every turn,” Duterte said, in reference to the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.

According to Duterte, Robredo has also “refused to answer allegations of her relationship with a married man.”

She said the vice president “may or may not get away with these but we all know she is not forthcoming in everything.”

“The reason why good moral character is not a requirement to run for Vice President is because we have so many Leni Robredos in this world,” she said.

“And if she insists in saying that you have to be honest to run for public office, then she must say goodbye to her dreams of becoming President,” she added.
