Sara Duterte, Freddie Aguilar, Robin Padilla among PDP-Laban’s possible senatorial bets for 2019

(Eagle News) –The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan revealed on Thursday, Aug. 16, the names of personalities who may comprise its senatorial slate in the 2019 elections.

Among those included in the letter submitted by PDP-Laban President Koko Pimentel for President Rodrigo Duterte’s comment were the senator’s own name, and “friends of the party” Davao Mayor Sara Duterte and actor Robin Padilla.

Duterte is PDP-Laban chair.

Pimentel also recommended as possible senatorial  bets PDP-Laban members Special Assistant to the President  Bong Go, Presidential political adviser Francis Tolentino, Sen. Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Davao City Rep. Karlo Nograles, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid “Dong” Mangudadatu, Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman, Makati Rep. Monsour Del Rosario, Folk singer Freddie Aguilar, broadcast journalist Jiggy Manicad, Negros Occidental Rep. Alfredo Benitez and Quirino Rep. Dakila Carlo  Cua.

Apart from the Davao mayor and Padilla, Pimentel also recommended for consideration “friends of the party” Bureau of Corrections Director Ronald dela Rosa, actor and former Sen. Lito Lapid, former Interior Secretary Rafael  Alunan, Columnist Ramon Tulfo, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano.

He said the five reelectionist senators–Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito, Grace Poe and Nancy Binay–could also be considered.
