(Eagle News)—-President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, Oct. 9, denied he had cancer, but said he did have a “badly eroded” esophagus due to drinking.
“It’s not the colon, it’s my Barett. It’s badly eroded I was told to stop drinking years ago. But of late, bumalik kasi ako,” Duterte said.
According to the President, the tests conducted on him yielded negative results.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had said the tests last week were followup tests to previous tests conducted on the President in which a possible “growth” was spotted in his digestive tract.
“Hindi pa ako cancerous so do not be afraid to go near me,” Duterte said.
He also denied going to Hong Kong for a medical checkup, saying he only bought clothes for himself.
