(Eagle News) –A reshuffle is in the works in the Philippine National Police, as Oscar Albayalde takes the helm of the force on Thursday, April 19.

Police Director Camilo Cascolan, the PNP’s director for operations, has been appointed to head the National Capital Region Police Office, a post held by Albayalde before he was named PNP chief.

Cascolan made the news after he said Senator Antonio Trillanes IV needed to study statistics.

This was after Trillanes said Davao City was the number one most dangerous city in the country, and had the  highest murder rate.

“We will give him the stats if he wants to so he will know what is happening in Davao City…Good for him because he is actually doing a lot of fake news when it comes to murder and rape,” Cascolan said.

The Davao City Council declared Trillanes as persona non grata.

Replacing Cascolan is Calabarzon Police Regional Office director Chief Supt. Ma. O Aplasca, who will be succeeded by Quezon City Police District director Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar as director of the PRO-Calabarzon.

Eleazar, for his part, will be replaced by  Chief Supt. Joselito Esquivel, who was the executive officer of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence.
