Paolo Duterte to Trillanes: I want justice, not revenge

(Eagle News)–Presidential son Paolo Duterte said he was not seeking revenge but “justice.”

The former Davao vice mayor issued the statement after President Rodrigo Duterte  said his son was running for a seat in the House of Representatives to get back at Senator Antonio Trillanes.

Last year, Trillanes  accused the presidential son of being part of a smuggling syndicate and of a triad, allegations which the younger Duterte denied.

He  resigned as the then- Davao vice mayor,  out of delicadeza, and later filed libel charges against Trillanes.

“Next year, Mr. Trillanes will be worse than a non-matter. He will end his term as a senator like it is a blessing to the Filipino people — perhaps except for the few who believed in the lies he concocted against me and my family,” the younger Duterte said.

“As he is today, he will be worthless,” he added.

He said Trillanes should “man up and face” the cases he filed against Trillanes in court.

“Apart from that [cases he filed], considering the insignificance and uselessness of Mr Trillanes, I will devote my time to serve the Dabawenyos,” the younger Duterte said.
