Palace shrugs off Trillanes’ remark Duterte could face impeach raps if it was true foreign country supplied him with intel on his critics

(Eagle News)– The Palace on Thursday, Sept. 13, shrugged off Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s remark President Rodrigo Duterte could face an impeachment complaint for his revelation a foreign country supplied him with  proof there was a conspiracy to oust him as president.

‘Yung kasama niya na laging nagfa-file ng impeachment complaint, wala naman nangyayari..So let him file another impeachment complaint. Wala rin namang mangyayari diyan kasi wala naman talagang saysay,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said.

He was apparently referring to Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano, who floated the possibility of filing an impeachment complaint in connection with Duterte’s remark.

It was also Alejano who filed an impeachment complaint against Duterte over alleged human rights abuses stemming from the drug war.

The complaint filed last year, however, was junked by the House justice committee.

“So let him file another impeachment complaint wala rin naman mangyayari dyan kasi wala naman talagang saysay. It’s all about drama and political mileage,” Roque said.

The President had said a foreign country had supplied him with taped conversations which he said were proof the Magdalo group, Communist rebels and the Liberal party were conniving to have him ousted by October.

Trillanes said Duterte could face an impeachment complaint if this was true.
