Palace: No need for peace talks to be held in Norway

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Monday, June 18, said there was no need for peace talks  to be done in Norway.

In a press conference, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said President Rodrigo Duterte himself “does not understand why we should continue talking” in the European country.

“Pare pareho naman tayong Pilipino puwedeng pag-usapan na ‘yan dito sa Pilipinas. Bakit kinakailangang lumayo pa?” Roque said.

He said the talks would be brokered  by a “panel and they have the authority to fix the logistics.”

He said however that “any party who wants to help and who has been involved in the process can help.”

“Any peace agreement, especially now with the (Communist Party of the Philippines-National Democratic Front of the Philippines) must be all inclusive and must pass the test of both legal and political scrutiny,” Roque said.
