Midas Marquez named SC spokesperson anew

(Eagle News) — Supreme Court administrator Midas Marquez has been named spokesperson of the High Court anew.

Newly appointed Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin said that while he was “still looking for somebody whom I would like to sit in that position,” Marquez, who is vying for an associate justice post in the SC, can hold the post at present as the Chief Justice has known him for quite some time already.

“I think he can help me varnish the image of the courts, and varnish my image as its chief justice,” Bersamin said.

The current acting SC spokesperson, Maria Victoria Gleoresty Guerra, Bersamin said, has expressed her intent to vie for another position in the High Court.

Marquez served as spokesperson, chief of the High Court’s Public Information Office, chief of staff of the Office of the Chief Justice concurrently when Reynato Puno was then-Chief Justice.

Marquez also served as the High Court’s spokesperson during the time of then-former Chief Justice Renato Corona.
