SWS: Net satisfaction rating of Duterte admin performance rises in March

(Eagle News) — Net satisfaction rating of the Duterte administration’s performance rose in the latest Social Weather Stations survey.

From a +61 in December 2016, the second time SWS conducted a poll on the Duterte administration’s performance, overall net satisfaction rating increased to a +66 in the poll done from March 25 to March 28.

The +66 overall net satisfaction rating was the same net satisfaction rating the Duterte administration received in September 2016, the first time an SWS was done on that administration’s  performance.

The March survey was done using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide—300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Sampling error margins were pegged at ±3% for national percentages, at ±4% for Balance Luzon, and at ±6% each for Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Broken down, the +66 overall rating translates to 75 percent satisfied with the Duterte administration’s performance, 16 percent undecided, and only 9 percent dissatisfied.

The Duterte administration scored the highest with Class E (+69), followed by Class D (+66) and then Classes ABC (+61).

According to the SWS survey results, the Duterte administration scored a “very good” in helping the poor (+63), and a “good” in ten aspects–helping the poor (+63), developing science and technology (+49), fighting terrorism (+47), defending the country’s territorial rights (+46), foreign relations (+46), providing jobs (+43), fighting crimes (+41), eradicating graft and corruption (+39), solving the problem of extrajudicial killings (+37), reconciliation with Muslim rebels (+33) and reconciliation with communist rebels (+32).

It scored a “moderate” in four fields–ensuring that no family will be hungry (+22), recovering the hidden wealth reportedly stolen by Marcos and cronies (+22), resolving the traffic problem (+21) and fighting inflation (+13).
