Classes suspended in some parts of country due to inclement weather

(Eagle News) — Classes were suspended in several parts of the country on Wednesday as “Gorio,” which entered the Philippine area of responsibility,  intensified into a tropical storm, and the southwest monsoon intensified over the western section of Luzon.

Authorities have suspended classes at all levels in Cavite, Malabon, Caloocan and Olongapo.

In Quezon City; Navotas; Valenzuela; Manila; and San Mateo, Rizal the suspension only applies from the pre-school  to senior high school levels in all public and private schools.

Some institutions declared a suspension of classes on their own.

Authorities from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela and Valenzuela City Polytechnic College said classes were suspended at all levels there.

Classes from pre-school to senior high school were also suspended in Our Lady of Fatima University Valenzuela.

“The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin to be issued at 11 p.m. today,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
