Ateneo Junior High School moves class resumption to Jan. 7, 2019; says later date is to allow school to prep for implementation of “concrete, proactive measures” to address bullying

(Eagle News)–The Ateneo de Manila Junior High School has moved the date of the resumption of classes from Jan. 3, 2019 to Jan. 7, 2019.

In a memorandum on its Facebook page, AJHS said the new date was to “allow the school administration, faculty, and staff ample time to prepare for the implementation of a series of concrete and proactive measures that will directly address the bullying issue on campus.”

Earlier,  an AJHS student was seen physically assaulting his schoolmate in a video that has gone viral.

The same student was seen physically and emotionally assaulting other students in at least three other videos that have gone viral.

The bully has since been dismissed from the school.

“This has been a painful time for our community… We pray to turn this pain into learning opportunities for character formation and culture transformation,” AJHS said.
