In this interview of ASEAN in Focus with Philippine Ambassador to India Ramon Bagatsing Jr., on June 4, the Philipine envoy explained how the very, very strict lockdowns and intensified vaccination drive in India contributed to the decline in COVID-19 cases in the last two weeks.
Ambassadaor Bagatsing also explained that the people in India are also now strictly complying with health protocols. So far, all Filipinos in India who got infected with the virus have also already recovered. There were three Filipinos who died in India due to COVID-19 last May at the height of the pandemic that saw the emergence of the double mutation COVID-19 variant, or the B.1.617.2 (Delta variant).
