Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Bukidnon within one to two hours.

PAGASA said these conditions are being experienced in Surigao del Sur, particularly in Tandag, Tago, Bayabas, Cagwait, Barobo, Tagbina, Bislig, Cantilan and Lanuza; in Davao Oriental, specifically in Baganga, Caraga, Banaybanay; and in Davao de Oro, specifically in New Bataan.

These conditions are also felt in Santiago, Cabdabaran and Butuan in Agusan del Norte, in DInagat Islands in Surigao del Norte, and in Sibuco, Sirawai, Sergio Osmena Sr. in Zamboanga del Norte.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
