Yellow rainfall warning hoisted over N. Samar

(Eagle News)–A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over Northern Samar. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said flooding is expected in low-lying areas, near river channels and landslides in mountainous areas in that area. Light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced in Bicol Region, particularly in Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte. PAGASA said these may persist for one to three hours.

“Quiel” intensifies into tropical storm

(Eagle News) — “Quiel” has intensified into a tropical storm as it moved over the West Philippine Sea, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. PAGASA monitors two active tropical cyclones outside PAR

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring two weather disturbances outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. PAGASA said a tropical depression was spotted 610 kilometers west southwest of Iba, Zambales, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph. Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over Laguna, four other areas

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Laguna and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with possible lightning and strong winds are also expected over Rizal, Quezon, Batangas and Bulacan within the next two hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
