Researchers find neuron protein triggers release of insulin
BALTIMORE, Maryland (Reuters) — A team at Johns Hopkins’ Department of Biology has discovered that a protein which helps neurons grow, known as ‘nerve growth factor’ (NGF), also triggers the release of insulin in the pancreas.
