3.8-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur early Sunday

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Sunday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:34 a.m., had its epicenter 92 kilometers northeast of Bayabas. It had a depth of four kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News) — A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Sunday, December 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 13 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 8:52 a.m. Depth of focus was 26 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.5-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Sept. 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 35 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 7:48 a.m. Depth of focus was 13 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Sunday, July 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 5.5-magnitude quake in the province on July 13, hit 4 kilometers southeast of Carrascal at 10:38 a.m. Depth of focus was seven kilometers. An intensity III was recorded in Cantilan and Carmen, and an intensity II in Lanuza. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Saturday, July 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 6 kilometers southwest of San Francisco at 5:43 a.m. An intensity IV was felt in Surigao City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.1-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)—A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Saturday, May 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 64 kilometers southeast of Marihatag at 7:05 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 19 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.5-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Tuesday, April 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which was of tectonic origin, hit 22 kilometers southeast of Lingig at 3:46 a.m. The depth of focus was 29 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.  

3.1-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Sunday, April 21. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, hit 30 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 2:42 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 31 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks was recorded.

4.9-magnitude quake jolts Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News) — A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur, on Friday, June 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake–with a depth of focus pegged at six kilometers– hit Bislig at 9:44 a.m. The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Bislig City, and Intensity III in Hinatuan. No damage nor aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs said.
