(Eagle News) — At least two people have been killed in incidents caused by the continuous rains brought about by an enhanced southwest monsoon. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office on Monday, Aug. 13, said Dioscoro Camacho of Marikina City and Gloria Borlongan Mendoza of Quezon City died of drowning. Work at House of Representatives suspended on Monday, Aug. 13

(Eagle News)—Work at the House of Representatives was suspended on Monday, Aug. 13, due to bad weather. Scheduled committee hearings, however, will push through. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday “Yagi” and “Leepi” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing rains in several parts of the country.

MMDA lifts number-coding scheme in all cities in M. Manila except in Las Piñas, Makati

(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Monday, Aug. 13, lifted the number-coding scheme. The MMDA said the suspension applies to cities in Metro Manila, except for Las Piñas and Makati. The suspension came as the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration forecast continuous monsoon rains in Metro Manila on this day, with two tropical storms outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility enhancing the southwest monsoon.
