(Eagle News) — Unemployment rate in the country went down to 4.5 percent in October, the lowest since 2005, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported on Thursday, Dec. 5. The PSA said this was also a decrease from the 5.1 percent in October last year. Sorsogon placed under state of calamity

Sorsogon governor Chiz Escudero, however, noted that there were no casualties reported in the province after the typhoon’s onslaught. But the initial damage reported already reached P667,331,900 due to agriculture and fisheries losses. The cost of damage to infrastructure is still being completed.
