The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 12 kilometers southeast of Tulunan at 7:55 a.m. Depth of focus was five kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 15 kilometers southwest of Makilala at 12:54 a.m. The quake, PHIVOLCS said, was an aftershock of the 5.6-magnitude quake that hit the province on July 9. An Intensity III was felt in Kidapawan City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
