DOTr: No hike in MRT-3 fares despite rehab

MRT-3 unloads passengers after train experiences “electrical motor failure”

(Eagle News)–Over 500 passengers were unloaded from a Metro Rail Transit 3 train on Thursday, Sept. 27, after it experienced electrical motor failure. In an advisory, the MRT3 management said the 540 passengers were unloaded from the  train heading southbound at the Araneta Center Cubao station at 6:24 a.m. The motor failure was due to worn-out electrical sub-components, the MRT-3 said. The passengers were allowed to board the next train, which arrived five minutes later.  

DOTr vows to shoulder medical expenses of seven MRT-3 personnel injured in “accidental collision” of line service vehicles

“Signaling error” disrupts MRT-3 operations; over 200 passengers unloaded

(Eagle News) — Over 200 passengers had to be unloaded from a Metro Rail Transit-3 train on Friday, June 1. The Department of Transportation-MRT 3 said the around 250 passengers were unloaded at the GMA Kamuning station southbound when the train encountered a “signaling error.” The DoTr-MRT3 said the passengers took the next train that arrived four minutes later. MRT-3 back with 15 running trains after annual maintenance

  (Eagle News) – The Metro Rail Transit raised the number of operational trains today to 15 after its annual maintenance this weekend, and hopes it can further increase this to 20 eventually. As of 2:10 on Monday, April 2, 2018, the MRT reported that it had 15 operational and running trains. Several MRT3 passengers unloaded after train experiences technical problem

(Eagle News) — Several passengers of the Metro Rail Transit 3 were unloaded on Thursday after a train experienced a technical problem. The Department of Transportation said in a tweet that the passengers had to get off Quezon Ave. at 5:37 a.m. The DOTr said the train that experienced the problem was removed without replacement and a cancellation of loops and insertion were made. The MRT management apologized for the inconvenience.

Pimentel: Dalian should refund P3.5 billion gov’t spent for 48 defective MRT coaches

Company should also be blacklisted from gov’t, Pimentel says (Eagle News)– China’s Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stocks Co. should refund the full P3.8 billion  the government spent for the 48 light rail vehicles of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3. MRT train suffers “electrical failure”; Passengers unloaded at Ortigas station

(Eagle News) — At least 800 passengers were unloaded on Tuesday morning after a train suffered another technical problem. The Metro Rail Transit 3 management said a southbound train experienced the electrical failure at 8:21 a.m. The management said the failure was due to “worn-out electrical sub-components.” The affected passengers who were offloaded at Ortigas Station took the next train.

DOTr: BURI, its joint venture members barred from participating in bidding for major rail projects
