Indonesian President arrives in Manila for state visit, World Economic Forum

Car collides with taxi in Manila

A taxi cab was crushed when a car suddenly collided with it in the corner of Taft and UN Avenue. The taxicab driver lost his consciousness as his taxi cab overturned twice. According to witnesses the car was overspeeding and ignored the red light. The passengers of the car are all minors, sparking investigation as to whether or not the driver can legally drive.

BOC Extends Port Operations in Manila

The Bureau of Customs extended the operating hours of the Port of Manila and the Manila International Container Port to help those affected by the truck ban in Manila. Customs commissioner John Sevilla said that since Thursday,operations in the two ports started at 8 am., and ended at 9 p.m.  On Saturdays, operations start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.

Manila Truck Ban Starts

The truck ban starts this Monday with those violating the ban being apprehended. They were given a ticket with a Php 5000 fine. According to the truck ban, trucks can only travel from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. A truck window was set from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
