4.5-magnitude earthquake strikes Leyte

(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Monday, Oct. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 7:13 p.m. Its epicenter was  six kilometers northeast of Kananga. According to PHIVOLCS, the depth of focus was 13 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Intensity V – Ormoc City, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.1-magnitude quake hits Leyte early Saturday, December 5

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake hit Leyte early Saturday, December 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 12:49 a.m., had its epicenter six kilometers northwest of the province. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. The earthquake was also tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

3.4-magnitude quake hits Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Saturday, Oct. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit five kilometers southwest of Capoocan at 8:55 a.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. The following intensities were reported: Intensity III- Capoocan & Carigara, Leyte Intensity II- Kananga, Jaro & Leyte, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.3-magnitude quake jolts Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 12 kilometers southwest of Burauen at 1:14 p.m. The following intensities were felt: Intensity III – Burauen & Albuera, Leyte Intensity II – Baybay City, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

3.2-magnitude quake jolts Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.-2-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit six kilometers southeast of Capoocan at 3:44 p.m. Depth of focus was five kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.0-magnitude quake hits Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Leyte on Friday, April 26. The quake struck 7 kilometers northeast of Albuera at 10:44 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 2 kilometers. An Intensity III was reported in Ormoc. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.  

3.7-magnitude quake jolts Leyte early Tuesday

(Eagle News)—A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte early Tuesday, April 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 26 kilometers northeast of Abuyog at 12:48 a.m. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Borongan, eastern Samar, PHIVOLCS said. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected from the quake, which was of tectonic origin.
