3.4-magnitude quake hits Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Saturday, Oct. 12.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit five kilometers southwest of Capoocan at 8:55 a.m.

Depth of focus was one kilometer.

The following intensities were reported:

Intensity III- Capoocan & Carigara, Leyte
Intensity II- Kananga, Jaro & Leyte, Leyte

No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
