COVID-19-positive Kabayan, Benguet mayor passes away due to cardiac arrest

(Eagle News) — Kabayan, Benguet Mayor Faustino Aquisan passed away due to cardiac arrest on Sunday, March 21. The Public Information Agency in Benguet said Aquisan  died past noon at the Notre dame de Chartres Hospital in Baguio City. He was 61 years old. (Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Kabayan” has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. New Kabayan party-list representative takes oath before Arroyo

(Eagle News) — The new representative of the Kabayan party-list took his oath before Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Paul Hernandez, the fourth nominee of the party-list in the 2016 polls, replaced Rep. Ciriciaco Calalang, who died recently after suffering a stroke. Apart from Hernandez, Rep. Benhur Salimbangon represents the Kabayan party-list.

Several fishermen missing as “Kabayan” leaves

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 26 fishermen are still missing 2 days after “Kabayan” left the Philippine area of responsibility. The NDRRMC records 4, 500 families were affected in the storm’s rampage in six provinces in Luzon with 1, 300 families staying in evacuation centers. Tropical storm “Kabayan” reaches Luzon

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on its Friday, October 2 forecast that tropical depression “Kabayan” has already reached Luzon. The weather bureau also said that they are raising public storm signals in several provinces as well as raising the orange rainfall warning on Metro Manila and others. “Kabayan” strikes Visayas

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, the low-pressure area that the weather bureau is monitoring in Visayas has developed into a tropical depression.
